With this movement, you feel the stretch in the lats at the top more than you do with the wide-grip variety, which makes it a good warm-up exercise. In fact, you can perform a warm-up set of these before you start every back workout.
Grasp a V-bar with a palms-in grip. Position your upper body so that it’s angled slightly back from vertical and maintain this angle throughout the movement.

Pull the bar down until it touches your upper chest. Focus on pulling your elbows back as far as possible and contracting your lats. Pause, slowly return to the start position and repeat.
